Severe weather and flight delays: Over 4,000 Reunionese plan to take legal action for “damages” caused by Air Mauritius.

Over 4,000 Reunionese have formed a collective, supported by the NGO “Dis Moi à La Réunion”.

They accuse the airline of a lack of communication and failure to take care of passengers during the cyclone Belal and recent heavy rainfalls. This resulted in the postponement of certain flights.

Didier Sooben, president of “Dis Moi à l’île sœur”, stated in a radio interview with RadioPlus on Wednesday, January 31, that they have engaged the services of a lawyer.

“They all paid for their tickets. What is unfortunate is the lack of communication. What I wish for is that Air Mauritius takes responsibility and finds solutions for these individuals.”

RadioPlus attempted to obtain a response from Air Mauritius, but their communication representative was unreachable this afternoon.
