The Finance Bill Passes with 94 Amendments

The parliamentary debates took place without the presence of opposition members, except for two MPs from the PMSD party, Xavier-Luc Duval and Patrice Armance and the Finance bill was voted on Tuesday evening, 23 July, with 94 amendments made to implement the budget measures announced in June 2024.

In his summary statement, Minister of Finance Renganaden Padayachy emphasized that the latest budget is focused on the future.

The parliamentary proceedings were adjourned until next Tuesday, July 31, at 11:30 am.
