UNESCO Approves Metro Express Route Extension to Immigration Square

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has granted approval for the extension of the Metro Express route to Immigration Square in Port-Louis.

This decision comes as Immigration Square is situated near the Aapravasi Ghat, a site of global heritage significance.

The Prime Minister made this announcement during the inauguration of the construction of 200 social housing units in Pointe-aux-Piments.

He also highlighted that the route expansion will continue into the northern region of the island.
