Wooton Roundabout Shut Down for 3 Months

Starting from April 23rd, and for a period of three months, the roundabout in Wooton will be closed to traffic.

The closure of the roundabout comes as part of the construction works of a Fly-Over at Wooton.

The works will begin on April 23rd, 2024 and are scheduled to finish on July 31st of the same year, according to a statement from the Ministry of Transport dated April 19th, 2024.

Traffic coming from Curepipe (Rue Couvent de Lorette) and the South, heading towards Quartier-Militaire, will be diverted onto the M1 highway towards the Camp-Fouquereaux roundabout, and then directed back towards the southbound lane to access the new road towards Quartier-Militaire.

Motorists coming from Quartier-Militaire and the North, heading towards Curepipe (Rue Couvent de Lorette), will also be diverted and will have to descend towards the La-Vigie roundabout before heading back towards the northbound lane to reach Rue Couvent de Lorette.

In the statement, the Ministry of Transport informs that signage and police presence will be in place to guide motorists.
