Mauritius is undergoing several large infrastructure projects to improve road connectivity, public transport and healthcare services.

These projects are costing billions in Mauritian rupees.

Notable projects include La Vigie – Flic-en-Flac Road, the new Ebene Interchange, an extension of the metro line, the A1-M1 cable-stayed bridge and a grade-separated junction at Wooton roundabout.

One of the largest projects, the extension of the metro line, is facing delay due to legal disputes and challenged contracts.

The new Flacq teaching hospital project is set to be completed by the end of this year.
