10 Groups Unite: Flic-en-Flac Beach Gets a Cleanup Glow-Up
Flic-en-Flac Beach, renowned for its breathtaking sunsets and natural beauty, is a favorite destination for both locals and tourists. However, over the years, there has been a concerning rise in litter accumulation along its shores.
In response to this growing environmental issue, the Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa recently organized a beach cleanup day along the Flic-en-Flac road to underscore its commitment to environmental preservation.
The initiative brought together several local organizations, including Sands Suites Resort & Spa, Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa, Sofitel Mauritius L’Impérial Resort & Spa, Sugar Beach, La Pirogue, A Sunlife Resort, Force de Flic en Flac, Middlesex University Mauritius, and the Sir Gaëtan Duval Hotel School.
Together, they focused on raising awareness about the importance of reducing waste and protecting the ecosystem.
Jacques Brune, General Manager of Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa, expressed pride in the collaborative effort.
“I am proud of this cleanup operation, which not only brought together various stakeholders from the industry but also reinforced our ‘Travel with Purpose’ policy aimed at enhancing our ecosystem,” he said.
“We look forward to organizing more events like this in the future that will have a lasting impact on the environment and future generations.”
The cleanup event highlighted the community’s proactive stance on environmental issues and showcases the collective responsibility shared by local businesses and institutions to safeguard the natural beauty of Flic-en-Flac Beach for years to come.
