MCB and UPI celebrate 15 years of fruitful collaboration

The Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB) and UnionPay International (UPI) are celebrating their 15-year partnership.

UnionPay is the world’s largest card payment brand, with acceptance in 181 countries and regions.

In Africa, UnionPay is present in 50 countries and has launched innovative payment products.

MCB was the first bank in the Indian Ocean to integrate the UnionPay network, anticipating the growth of Chinese tourism in Mauritius.

The partnership has resulted in significant growth of UnionPay acceptance within MCB’s network.

MCB remains committed to supporting UPI’s growth in Mauritius and shares common goals with UPI in Africa.

Both companies are optimistic about the future and are exploring new avenues of cooperation and innovation.
