16 million tests conducted by the laboratory service

In the financial year 2022-2023, the Ministry of Health’s laboratory service in Mauritius conducted 16 million tests, according to the Annual Report on Performance.

The report also highlights 15,564 chemotherapy examinations and 1,207 cardiac surgeries among the services provided.

Additionally, the radiology service performed 767,692 examinations, including 35,233 CT scans and 5,742 MRIs.

Various other tests and examinations were also conducted, such as electroconvulsive therapy, endoscopy, and nuclear medicine.
