Ramgoolam on Slovak's brutal extradition: "We've crossed the red line."

The Leader of the Labour Party and ex-Prime Minister Dr Navin Ramgoolam has blasted the Government over the brutal extradition of Slovak Peter Uricek despite an injunction from the Supreme Court.

“The officers said they received orders from higher quarters. No one is safe anymore if orders are coming from ‘higher quarters’ that go against the Supreme Court,” he was cited by Le Mauricien newspaper as telling reporters.

He reportedly also blasted police officers who pushed lawyer Yatin Varma.

“We are living in a rogue and mafia state. We have crossed the red line.”

He further questioned the existence of an extradition agreement with Slovakia.

“The MSM is a dangerous party for the country,” he claimed. “The population needs to decide what it wants.”
