8 Escape Collapsing House during Torrential Rain

Tragic fate for this Tranquebar family. A two-story house belonging to the Ramsahye family (Dholl Puri Maraz) collapsed on Swami Sivananda Street, Tranquebar, in Port Louis.

The eight members of the family were able to flee the house and find shelter with a neighbor. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

According to our sources, the ground floor was inundated with water following heavy rains that hit the country on Sunday, April 21.
