A peaceful march took place in the streets of Rose-Hill this Saturday, April 13th. It was organized by the group “Solidarite Morisyin Avek Lepep Palestinn”.

“This action is a march for peace and freedom,” said Alain Ah Vee from Lalit. He claims that the Mauritian government should take necessary actions to cut all diplomatic ties with Israel.

“This march demonstrates our solidarity with the Palestinian state,” he added.

Reaz Chutoo from the CTSP supported the idea that these demonstrations should continue until peace is restored.

The unionist advocates for mobilization of civil society.

Among those who attended the march this Saturday were several trade unionists, including Haniff Peerun and Deepak Benydin, as well as former President of the Republic Cassam Uteem.
