Jugnauth Promises More: All Pensioners To Receive Rs 13,500 Monthly

Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth has announced that all pensioners will “receive their Rs13,500”. He was speaking during the week-end at the Swami Vivekananda Centre in Pailles on the sidelines of the International Women’s Day celebration, which will be observed on 8th March.

“Soon all categories will receive their Rs 13,500,” he said without giving further details.

In his New Year message on 1st January 2024, Pravind Jugnauth had announced that “starting this month, all pensioners aged 75 and above will have a pension of Rs 13,500.”

He added that this measure would soon be extended to other categories of retirees. Pravind Jugnauth also highlighted that it is his government that has improved the economic conditions for women.

Also present, the Minister for Gender Equality and Family Well-being, Kalpana Koonjoo-Shah, spoke about women as the backbone of society.

She praised women’s ability to make crucial decisions for their future and emphasized that women deserve to be celebrated.
