Wavel Ramkalawan: “Seychelles express full support to Mauritius in reclaiming sovereignty over the Chagos Islands”. Wavel Ramkalawan made this statement on Thursday morning, 1st February.

As the guest of honour at the commemoration of the 189th anniversary of the abolition of slavery, President Ramkalawan emphasised that Mauritius and Seychelles have always been able to overcome various challenges and obstacles.

He argued in favour of close collaboration between our two islands in this divided world.

The official ceremony took place at Le Morne, with the presence of the Prime Minister and the leader of the opposition, among others.
