Unregistered and Unhygienic: Le Nid de Coromandel Faces Criticism

Le Nid de Coromandel, a private preschool and primary school, has faced criticism from parents and teachers due to concerns over hygiene and employment conditions.

The school was found to be unregistered by the Early Childhood Care and Education Authority (ECCEA) last year, but it is managed by Le Nid Group Ltd and is part of the free preschool system.

It is unclear how the school, which does not comply with ECCEA regulations, can continue operating.

Parents and staff have reported issues with hygiene and poor working conditions, including teachers having to cover multiple classes and being forced to work when schools are closed.

The teachers claim to receive low salaries and have not received the CSG allowance.

The teachers have raised concerns with the Ministry of Education, but no action has been taken.

The school director, Natacha Leste, denies the criticisms, stating that hygiene is not an issue and that the school has withdrawn from the free preschool system.
