Tropical Depression: 9th Bulletin Keeps Mauritius on Alert

Mauritius is currently experiencing a tropical depression as the low pressure has intensified.

The country remains under a Class II cyclone warning, with the ninth cyclone bulletin issued on Wednesday morning.

The depression is located northwest of Albion and is moving southwest with a speed of 15 km/h. It has strengthened into a moderate tropical storm and has been named Candice.

Clouds associated with the depression’s outer circulation may approach Mauritius in the afternoon.

The public is advised to take precautions and stay indoors as the weather will be mostly cloudy with intermittent rainfall and the possibility of heavier rain in certain regions.

The wind is blowing from the northeast at 25 km/h with gusts up to 60 km/h, and sea conditions are hazardous.

Employees were told to go to work this Wednesday, but caution is advised. Schools and nurseries remain closed.
