Mauritius is currently under a Class 2 cyclone warning, with Alert 1 maintained in Rodrigues, according to the second cyclone bulletin issued on January 22, 2024.

The Vacoas weather station published a satellite image indicating the weather situation.

The barometric pressure at Saint-Brandon is decreasing steadily, signaling the intensification of the system, expected to reach the moderate tropical storm stage by the next morning and be named Candice.

The low pressure, located 430 km north of Mauritius, is moving slowly south-southeast, posing a potential threat.

Residents are urged to take necessary precautions as the system approaches, bringing cloudy weather, moderate showers, thunderstorms, and increasing winds.

The public is advised against sea activities due to rough conditions. Another bulletin is scheduled for 22:10.
