Cyclone Chaos: Director of Meteorological Services Quits, Says PM

Ram Dhurmea, Director of the Met Services, is no longer the director of the weather station. He has resigned from his position.

This announcement was made by Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth in a statement aired on MBC at 17:40.

The head of government expressed his “anger” towards the situation that led to chaos following the flooding caused by Cyclone Belal.

Pravind Jugnauth asserted that the authorities acted based on the information provided by the weather station this morning.

The Prime Minister emphasized that “everyone must take responsibility”.
