The Mauritius Investment Corporation (MIC), a subsidiary of the Bank of Mauritius, is venturing into a new project to sell 993 plots of land in Albion.

This is the first time the MIC has engaged in such an ambitious land sale initiative.

The corporation, which was established in 2020 with a $2 billion injection from the Bank of Mauritius to support the economy amidst the pandemic, aims to offer a range of residential and residential/commercial plots over a 53.5-hectare area.

The MIC submitted an Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) permit application in late 2021.

The Albion site, currently used for sugarcane cultivation, requires land conversion and the construction of necessary infrastructure before the MIC can bring small, medium, and large plots to the market.

The corporation also plans to harmonize construction styles and offer flexible payment terms to boost sales.
