Côte-d’Or: Education and Health Hub Set to Launch
The Education and Health Hub in Côte d’Or, known as “The City,” is set to begin construction in the first half of 2024 and be completed by the end of 2025.
Landscope Mauritius, the property owner, plans to invest over Rs 100 million in infrastructure works for the hub.
The project includes building roads, a sewage network, electricity, water, and internet connectivity.
The hub is part of the larger Côte d’Or Integrated Smart City project, which aims to redefine and modernize the physical landscape of Mauritius with a total investment of over Rs 20 billion.
Various contracts have already been signed, including the construction of a new heart hospital, a warehouse for the Ministry of Health, a central laboratory, and an AYUSH Centre of Excellence.
The Education Hub will house the Open University of Mauritius, the University of Technology (Mauritius), the Mauritius Institute of Education, and the Ministry of Education’s Education House.
Additionally, plans are underway for an Academy of Design and Innovation Eco-Campus.
