District Council Criticised for Excessive Political Use of Resources

The Moka District Council has been criticised for excessively using its resources for political purposes, particularly for the benefit of the MSM party.

This was reportedly evident during the recent regional committee party held in the council’s courtyard.

The council’s leadership team is accused of prioritising the interests of the MSM, including the Prime Minister and party leader, Pravind Jugnauth.

“They attempted to be sneaky by hiring a contractor to set up a large green hall, which was used for both the MSM party and an elderly lunch.

This resulted in the hall being used for the political gathering instead of its intended official purpose,” Le Mauricien reported.
