2nd Case of Malaria Recorded, Mauritius Urges Vigilance
Health authorities are on high alert after a second case of malaria was recorded in December. The case involves a resident of the Marianne region in Mahébourg.
Precautionary measures are being taken, including a fogging exercise in the patient’s area.
Authorities are urging vigilance, recommending that people who travel to high-risk countries undergo screening and monitor their health.
Unfortunately, another Mauritian, aged 52, who had earlier travelled to Congo and contracted malaria has died from the disease.
