FCSOU Calls for Minister to Expose Corruption Within Public Sector

The Federation of Civil Service and Other Unions (FCSOU) has called on Minister of Public Service, Anjiv Ramdhany, to expose corrupt officials within the public sector.

Narendranath Gopee, the FCSOU negotiator, criticised the minister for making serious allegations without taking appropriate action.

Gopee suggested that the minister should approach institutions like the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) to investigate cases of corruption.

In response, Ramdhany defended his statement, highlighting the need for strong measures to address fraud and other financial crimes in the public service.

He emphasised the importance of the Financial Crimes Commission Bill in tackling fraud and ensuring a well-defined framework for addressing such offences.
