Duty Free CEO Demoted, Staff’s 1.25 Months’ Salary Bonus Reduced

Employees of Mauritius Duty Free Paradise Shop (MDFP) are questioning whether their public complaints led to them receiving a lower special bonus than promised.

Instead of the announced special bonus of 1.25 months’ salary, employees of Mauritius Duty Free Paradise Shop (MDFP) have reportedly only received 0.55 months’ salary as bonus.

According to le Mauricien, this has caused anger and frustration among the employees who feel cheated by this treatment.

They are reportedly planning to take action in response to this lack of financial recognition. Meanwhile, the CEO of MDFP, Naresh Keesoondoyal, has reportedly been demoted and reassigned to his previous role as Retail Operations Manager.

“The reasons for this demotion remain unclear, but there are rumours that Pavan Baichoo, the CEO of AML and ATOL, will take over as CEO,” Le Mauricien reported.

This decision has raised questions as Baichoo is seen as allegedly lacking knowledge in airport operations.
