Jugnauth Projects 7% Economic Growth, Criticises Allegations of Electoral Fraud

During a public rally of the MSM ruling party in Mare-d’Albert, Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth announced a projected economic growth rate of 7% for 2023.

He attributed this growth to the government’s measures, including an increase in the universal pension, free preschool and tertiary education, and various allowances to assist struggling families.

Jugnauth emphasized that the country’s growth is evident in the expanding “national cake.”

He also criticized the allegations of electoral fraud made by the PTr-MMM-PMSD alliance, highlighting that some members had filed electoral petitions but failed to provide sufficient evidence.

Additionally, Jugnauth defended the credibility of the election commissioner, Irfan Raman, and urged the opposition to apologize for their lack of dignity in questioning his integrity.

The Prime Minister further discussed the government’s implementation of measures recommended in the drug inquiry report, such as the re-registration of SIM cards and the establishment of the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC).

He asserted that these actions target fraudsters and drug mafias while exposing the opposition’s true face.
