Air Mauritius’ flight MK 141 was grounded at the Plaine-Corail regional airport in Rodrigues for several hours on December 11, due to yet another incident among many others.

The flight, scheduled to depart Plaine-Corail airport at 7:20 PM and arrive at Plaisance airport, was reportedly disrupted by technical issues, specifically with the engine.

The 65 passengers who were supposed to board the flight apparently had to wait at the airport.

It wasn’t until 1 AM that 60 passengers were able to board the same flight and return to Mauritius, as five passengers had opted out.

After six hours of waiting, local technicians and professionals were able to fix the technical problems on site.

According to Le Mauricien, this is not the first time Air Mauritius flights to Rodrigues have been delayed due to technical issues.

A few years ago, even Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth had to endure a delay of over an hour on his return flight to Mauritius due to similar problems.
