Air Mauritius Manager Accused of Attempted Murder by Journalist

A journalist from L’Express has accused an Air Mauritius manager of attempted murder.

The journalist claims that while he was talking to politician Bashir Jahangeer on La Louvière Street, a brown Mercedes drove towards him at high speed.

He managed to avoid a collision by leaning towards his friend’s car, but the driver of the Mercedes continued in a reckless manner, seemingly trying to harm or scare him.

The journalist identified the driver as the Air Mauritius manager, Amba Manikam, with whom he had previous disagreements over his articles about the airline.

The incident may have been captured on a nearby surveillance camera.

The journalist’s deposition also mentions a previous encounter, where the manager criticised his articles and allegedly made threats.

The Floréal police have initiated an investigation following the journalist’s statement.
