Mauritius Gymkhana Club: Allegations of Abuse and Harassment
The Mauritius Gymkhana Club, situated in Vacoas, is facing potential trouble as its new management is alleged to be involved in abuse of power and harassment of staff.
The Ministry of Labour has reportedly initiated an investigation following a denunciation letter from club employees.
The allegations include unjustified transfers, staff pressure due to claimed losses, and insults directed towards employees.
The club’s management has reportedly refused to comment.
However, the Labour Ministry is said to be taking these allegations seriously and employees will be questioned for clarifications.
According to Defi Media, Gymkhana Club employees have alerted the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) as well as the Equal Opportunities Commission, among others.
The Mauritius Gymkhana Club, established in 1844, holds the distinction of being the oldest golf course in the Southern Hemisphere.
