Heavy rain, thunderstorms in the centre, up to 34 degrees on the coast

The Mauritius Meteorological Services have predicted localised showers in certain parts of the island. These showers, locally heavy at times, will be accompanied with thunderstorms, the Met Office said.

“There will be cloudy developments in the afternoon to the East, South and Central Plateau with localised showers which will be moderate. Of short duration, these showers will be locally heavy and accompanied with thunderstorms,” it said in a statement on Monday morning.

“Gradually late in the afternoon, the showers will spread to the other sectors,” it added.

The maximum temperature is expected to vary between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius over the central plateau and between 31 and 34 degrees Celsius along the coasts.

After some localised showers in the evening, the sky will gradually clear up and the weather will be mainly fair during the night.

The minimum temperature will vary between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius over the central plateau and between 21 and 24 degrees Celsius over the coastal regions.
