Doctor, pharmacist working for a private clinic arrested after drug bust

A doctor and a pharmacist working for an unnamed private clinic in Port-Louis have been arrested after the anti-drug squad seized a 5kg package containing cannabis.
According to media reports, the drug arrived from Wuijiang, Shanghai, China, and was meant for the clinic.
The label on the box reportedly read “Dry Herbal Infusion and Phytotherapy (Cannabis Frustus)”.
The pharmacist is Mauritian, the doctor is a Chinese national.
Meanwhile, the Customs Anti-Narcotics Section (CANS) of the Mauritius Revenue Authority seized 52.4 grams of cocaine worth Rs 786,000 on Wednesday.
The drugs arrived to Mauritius from Paris and were intended for a resident of Mahébourg.
The latter is actively being looked for by police.
