Monoprix Back in Town: 2025 Sees Retail Revolution
After a brief hiatus, French retailer Monoprix is set to make its grand return to Mauritius in the first quarter of 2025. The announcement was made by Vincent Peyronnet, Director of International and B2B Operations at Monoprix, on social media.
The company will be operating in the island nation through a franchise model, with several locations already identified and validated.
According to Peyronnet, “After a few years of absence, Monoprix is back with a new ambition: a development plan through franchise openings in the coming years.”
Monoprix’s re-entry into the Mauritian market marks an expansion of its presence in the Indian Ocean region, where it already has operations in Réunion Island.
The company’s decision to return to Mauritius is likely driven by the country’s growing economy and consumer demand for high-quality retail products.
The franchise model chosen by Monoprix will enable the company to establish a strong presence in the local market while also allowing for flexibility and adaptability.
With multiple locations planned, Monoprix is aiming to become a major player in the Mauritian retail landscape, offering a wide range of products and services to customers.
