Flood PNQ: Minister Hurreeram Reports 735 Financial Aid Requests
According to information provided by Bobby Hurreeram in the National Assembly on Tuesday, April 23, a total of 735 people have requested financial assistance from the government following the floods that occurred last Sunday, April 21.
Hurreeram, the Minister of National Infrastructure, was responding to a question from Shakeel Mohamed regarding the floods that occurred on January 15 and April 21.
During the questioning, the opposition leader pointed out that members of the opposition party had previously warned authorities about the risks associated with the construction work being carried out at the Ruisseau du Pouce.
Hurreeram also mentioned that 20 out of 62 high-risk flood zone projects have been completed, and a total of 539 drain projects, costing Rs 3.8 billion, have been completed so far.
