Heatwave Hits Mauritius: Temperature Soars 3°C Above Average
It has been exceptionally hot for the past few days and this heatwave continues to persist in our region.
The maximum temperature exceeds the seasonal average by about 3 degrees Celsius, according to information provided by the meteorological station in its bulletin issued this Saturday morning.
The maximum temperatures will be above normal, ranging between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius on the central plateau, and between 31 and 34 degrees Celsius on the coast.
Minimum temperatures will vary between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius on the central plateau, and between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius in coastal regions.
The weather is clear this morning. However, it will become temporarily cloudy in the afternoon with localized showers in the southwest, south, and on the central plateau.
The rest of the region will benefit from sunny weather. The night will generally be clear. The winds will be from the north at around 15 km/h, becoming light and variable during the night.
The sea will be rough beyond the reefs, with southwest swells reaching about 2 meters, intensifying to 2.5 meters in the afternoon and increasing further during the night.
It is not advisable to venture out into the open sea and lagoons.
