Air Mauritius Passengers Face 6-hour Wait

As Air Mauritius strives to keep its fleet in optimal working condition, some of its aircraft are facing technical issues, with two grounded and other planes experiencing ongoing malfunctions.

Employees are daily dealing with last-minute information about flight delays and cancellations, often while passengers are already at the airport for check-in.

On Tuesday April 2nd, frustration reached a new peak for passengers heading to Paris on an MK flight originally scheduled for 10:45 pm.

It wasn’t until around 5 pm, when many had already arrived at the airport, that they were informed of the aircraft’s delay due to technical problems. Initially announced with a 45-minute delay, the plane finally took off at 1 am.

Passengers, some with children, found themselves stuck at the airport, trying to make the best of the wait, with some even sitting on the floor.

It wasn’t until midnight that the airline provided a modest compensation in the form of a small carton of Sunny juice and pretzels.

Originally, the aircraft named “Trochetia Boutoniana” was supposed to operate this route.

However, after several hours of waiting and the engineers’ inability to resolve the issue, another plane, “Le Morne Brabant,” was called in to perform the flight.
