DPP Case: Ramgoolam Warns about Potential Constitutional Breach

“The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) wants to fire DPP because he’s not a puppet, that’s why, there is no other reason,” said the leader of the Labour Party, Navin Ramgoolam, after his political bureau meeting on Wednesday March 20th afternoon.

He was commenting on the power struggle between the DPP and the police that revolves around the Fixed Penalty Notices saga.

He considers this issue worrying. “What is happening is very dangerous,” he states.

“No one gives directives to the DPP’s office, section 72 (Editor’s note of the Constitution) is clear on that.

What is happening is serious for the country and our international reputation,” he warns.

He also continues to warn against the establishment of the Financial Crimes Commission. “FCC is targeting me. I am warning you,” he claims.

Navin Ramgoolam insists that there is no question of allowing the MSM regime to return to power.

“Our focus is to win the elections. It will be a great tragedy for the country if the MSM manages to divide us, we must save our country,” he says.
