The leader of the Labour Party (PTr) is unequivocal: “The FCC (Financial Crimes Commission) is targeting me. I am the one they are after.”

This was communicated by Navin Ramgoolam on Wednesday, March 20, during a press conference held in the early evening after the Political Bureau meeting of the PTr in Ebène.

Navin Ramgoolam also commented on the constitutional crisis between the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the police.

“The conflict between the police and the DPP is the latest development. For a fixed penalty, the police are prosecuting the DPP. What kind of country are we living in?” questioned the PTr leader.

According to him, the roles of the Commissioner of Police and the DPP are defined by the Constitution and they should not receive directives from anyone.

In the eyes of the former Prime Minister, “they want to remove the DPP because he is not a puppet. There will be chaos if, God forbid, DPP office allow themselves to be misled by the MSM and give in to their demands.”

“Our focus is to win the elections. It will be a great tragedy for the country if the MSM manages to divide us. That’s why our goal is to prevent the MSM from returning to power. We must succeed in saving our country. If they win again, it means you are giving Pravind Jugnauth a blank check,” highlights Navin Ramgoolam.
