49-Year-Old Pilgrim Dies at Grand-Bassin

A pilgrim en route to Grand Bassin from Mont-Ida tragically passed away on Saturday evening.

The victim collapsed at the Grand-Bassin parking area while visiting with family for the Maha Shivaratree festival.

Rushed to Rose-Belle hospital by the SAMU, the man passed away shortly afterwards.

An autopsy scheduled for Sunday will determine the exact cause of death.

It is worth noting that many devotees and pilgrims are heading to the sacred lake of Ganga Talao for the Maha Shivaratree festival, which will be celebrated on 8th March.
