Blood Donors Urgently Needed as Dengue Cases Rise

With the increase in dengue cases, there is a high demand for blood platelets. The Blood Donors Association is therefore calling on Mauritians to donate blood.

It is essential, however, to make an appointment to avoid prolonged waiting at the Candos hospital.

According to Subhanand Seegolam, the public relations officer of the Blood Donors Association, dengue patients urgently need blood platelets.

He emphasises that the situation could become critical with the rise in cases if the blood bank is not adequately stocked.
