Australia's New Envoy to Mauritius: Meet Ms Kate Chamley

Ms Kate Chamley has been appointed as Australia’s new High Commissioner to the Republic of Mauritius.

The relationship between the two countries is characterized by cooperation in the fields of blue economy, maritime security, and climate change.

Australia is proud to boast the world’s second largest Mauritian diaspora and remains a popular destination for Mauritian students.

In addition to her role in Mauritius, Ms Chamley will also be accredited to represent Australia in the Republics of Madagascar and Seychelles, as well as the Union of the Comoros.

Ms Chamley brings extensive experience from her previous positions in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, including her recent role as a Special Adviser in the Foreign Arrangements Taskforce.

The announcement expresses gratitude to Acting High Commissioner Katie Lalor for her contributions to Australia’s interests in Mauritius.
