Unstoppable at 100: Mrs. Jugurnauth’s Century of Grace and Faith
The first centenarian of 2024, Mrs Rookmeen Jugurnauth, celebrated her 100th birthday at a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security, and National Solidarity.
She received various tokens of honor including a cheque, a centenarian medal, and gifts.
Mrs Jugurnauth, born in 1924 in Quartier Militaire, had a modest upbringing and worked as a laborer until her retirement.
She was married to Mr Sookul and they had 10 children.
Now, at 100 years old, she enjoys good health, is cared for by her daughters, and finds solace in her faith and family memories.
