No End-of-Year Bonus for 205 Staffs: Employers to pay the Price!

205 employees have lodged complaints with the Ministry of Labour for not receiving their end-of-year bonus.

These complaints mainly come from the construction sector, security companies, and the restaurant industry, among others.

The Ministry has no intention of granting any favours to employers who fail to abide by the law. They will be summoned before the industrial court.

Mariaven Caremben, an industrial relations advisor at the Ministry of Labour, warns that they could face a fine of Rs 25,000 and a prison sentence not exceeding two years.
