Bundhoo Elected as President, Unopposed – Flacq District Celebrates!

Chandradev Bundhoo, also known as Vicky, has been elected as the new President of Flacq District Council, being the only candidate running for the position.

He replaces Kishore Kumar Jeewooth who was removed from his position due to allegations of mismanagement.

The atmosphere at the council was celebratory with fireworks, traditional drums, and songs performed by women.

The election took place on 29 December 2023, and Zahid Nazurally, the MP for Constituency No. 10, was the only government representative present at the ceremony.
