Webcup Junior 2023 Unleashes Young Digital Talents

The Webcup Junior is an innovative event in Mauritius that aimed to discover young digital talents through a five-hour long hackathon.

Launched by FINAM in partnership with various entities, the challenge focused exclusively on developing a website using HTML and CSS, in an effort to encourage children to get more involved in digital tools by providing a fun and educational opportunity.

The competition saw participation from a wide range of private and public schools, with the theme being to create a website presenting their E-sports team, which had been selected for the regional competition in the Indian Ocean.

Various awards were handed out after deliberations, with the Cotomili team from Lycée Labourdonnais winning the Grand Jury Prize.
