Up to Rs15 million Home Loans for Mauritians Living Abroad

The Mauritius Housing Company (MHC) has introduced the Diaspora Home Loan, aiming to make it easier for Mauritians living abroad to own property in the country.

The loan offers flexibility for acquiring existing homes or land for custom projects, with a maximum amount of Rs 15 million payable over a period of three to 35 years.

The targeted countries include South Africa, Madagascar, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Ireland.

The MHC expects a high level of interest from the diaspora and has formed a committee to cater to the specific needs of different countries.

Applications for the loans can be made in person or by proxy to the MHC.
