One & Only Le Saint Geran To Construct Artificial Reefs

The One and Only Le Saint-Géran Hotel has expressed concerns regarding the erosion of the beach in front of its premises.

Despite previous measures being taken in 1996 and 2002, which involved the installation of small offshore reefs and gabion mattresses to mitigate erosion, these attempts have proven to be temporary solutions over time as the erosion persists.

At Villa Beach One, the rocks on the beach are now exposed, prompting the consideration of constructing two artificial reefs and a rock covering to alleviate beach erosion at this location.

The hotel management believes that maintaining a high-quality beach is crucial in order to continue being recognised as one of the top establishments in Mauritius.
