Sandhya Boygah, a former Parliamentary Private Secretary of the MSM, is facing controversy as the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) investigates tests endorsed by the Mauritius Standards Bureau (MSB) during her tenure.

The ICAC began examining reports from the Food Microbiology Laboratory since October last year.

However, since Boygah left the MSB and became the Executive Director of the National Productivity and Competitiveness Council, the investigation has escalated, with MSB officials being questioned.

A former MSB employee has issued a legal notice claiming she is being pressured regarding her statements to the ICAC.

The ICAC investigation will be transferred to the new Financial Crimes Commission.

The employee alleges that tests were subcontracted to other laboratories without proper accreditation, and the results differed from the accredited MSB tests.

The situation raises concerns about corruption and malpractice during Boygah’s time at the MSB.
