CSG Income Allowance: Approximately Rs6 billion disbursed

Approximately Rs6 billion has been disbursed for the CSG Income Allowance since the beginning of the year, according to the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA).

The funds aim to alleviate the economic burden on citizens and have benefited 344,503 individuals.

The allowance is designed to mitigate the economic pressures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and strengthen household financial stability.

It includes payments ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000, depending on income level, and also incorporates specific allowances such as the Independence Allowance and Child Allowance.

The MRA views this disbursement as a reflection of the government’s commitment to supporting citizens during challenging economic times.

For the month of December, the MRA disbursed Rs 1,076,543,000, with 326,670 people benefiting from allowances.
