Chairperson remains in position, Despite Motion of No Confidence

Chairperson Jeewooth of the Flacq District Council remains in his position with the approval of the MSM ruling party, despite a motion of no confidence voted against him. 

According to Le Mauricien, Jeewooth continues to enjoy his privileges and has maintained his official schedule, even appearing alongside the Prime Minister at an MSM party on Wednesday.

This has caused annoyance and is seen as an abuse of power.

There are indications that Jeewooth may challenge the censure motion in court, potentially leading to him remaining in position until the next elections. 

Le Mauricien reported that invitations for a new event scheduled for this Sunday bear Jeewooth’s name, causing confusion among council members.
