GBV Launches Triton System for Sustainable Management of Rainwater and Protection of Coastal Wetlands

Groupe Beau Vallon (GBV), in association with Sunref Mauritius, the Agence française de Développement (AFD), MCB Group and Business Mauritius, has launched the Triton system in Pointe d’Esny Le Village for the protection of coastal wetlands and sustainable management of rainwater.

The network of retention ponds captures and filters rainwater and purifies it before it returns to the wetlands.

GBV’s Chief Executive Officer Thierry Merven said the project restored wetlands by recreating the biodiversity specific to the site, and getting flooding under control.

The Triton project was funded by investments through the Sunref Mauritius programme.
