Development of 310 Arpents in Palmar: 12 firms Interested
Twelve companies have expressed interest in developing 310 arpents of land in Palmar for tourism purposes, following a call for expression of interest by the Economic Development Board (EDB).
The companies include a mix of tourism and non-tourism related businesses, with some being newly established.
The EDB aims to develop hotels, ecotourism projects, retirement residences, commercial and leisure facilities on the land according to an approved master plan.
However, concerns about environmental impact and the limited number of interested operators have prompted calls for the government to reassess its approach.
A technical committee will evaluate the proposals based on merit before the lands are awarded.
