Ponzi Scheme Victims Threaten to Protest Over Missing Rs75Million

Ponzi Scheme victims are threatening to protest if they don’t get a meeting with the Minister of Financial Services, Mahen Seeruttun.

They are demanding the return of their money held at the Bank of Mauritius (BoM).

Legal advisor Kaviraj Bokhoree reveals that between 1,200 and 1,300 individuals have lost Rs 274 million in the Sunkai Ltd case, with some filing court cases.

The director of the company, Bhimla Ramloll, was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Rs 75 million has been seized by the authorities, but victims claim they are unsure when they will receive their funds.

Victims are considering peaceful protests if their demands are not met.

They also criticised the minister for not responding to their requests.

They have called on regulatory bodies to be vigilant and protect vulnerable individuals.
